Dear Study Abroad Students,

Please be advised that the U.S. Department of State travel advisory for ITALY has been elevated to a Level 3 – Reconsider travel to Italy due to a recent outbreak of COVID-19 . . . , and to a Level 4 – Do Not Travel to Lombardy and Veneto due to the level of community transmission of the virus and imposition of local quarantine procedures . . . [].

Additionally, the advisory from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for Italy includes the below information:

  • Warning - Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel—Widespread Community Transmission
  • CDC recommends that travelers avoid all nonessential travel to Italy. There is limited access to adequate medical care in affected areas . . . 

The U.S. Department of State advisory for SOUTH KOREA remains at a Level 3 - Reconsider travel to South Korea due to an outbreak of COVID-19 . . . 

The CDC advisory includes the following information:

  • Warning - Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel—Widespread Community Transmission
  • CDC recommends that travelers avoid all nonessential travel to South Korea. There is limited access to adequate medical care in affected areas . . . 

For students studying in Italy and South Korea, B´ÎÔª continues to strongly encourage your return home, and we remain committed to finding a pathway for you to take courses during Mercy’s Spring Term C (beginning March 18) or Summer term.
