How Long Do My College Credits Stay Valid?

If you already have some credits under your belt or have earned your associate's before taking a break, you may wonder, 鈥淗ow long are my credits good for?鈥 This varies based on your degree and the classes you took. Generally, colleges will accept your credits up to 10 years after your last class or earning your associate's, but the exact number may vary depending on the specific credit.

At Mercy, we try to take as many credits as possible so you can hit the ground running as soon as you start. We have articulation agreements with several community colleges, which means it's easier for the majority of your credits to transfer in.

Something else that makes Mercy different is the Life Achievement Portfolio Development. If you meet the requirements for this credit option, you can transform the knowledge you've earned outside the classroom into some credits toward your degree.
