Business and Accounting

The B´ÎÔª School of Business wishes to attract new graduate students who will start their studies in the 2024-2025 academic year. Accordingly, the School is providing a program to encourage new incoming Business Graduate students, who have performed well academically in their undergraduate programs, with scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year.

These scholarships will be one-time and will be applied to their tuition bill equally over four consecutive quarters beginning with the first quarter in which the student is enrolled in the 2024-2025 academic year if the student registers for at least six credits each quarter. The scholarship will not extend beyond the four quarters beginning when the student initially enrolls.

Applicants to each of the Graduate Business Programs will be automatically considered for one of two scholarship awards when they apply for admission to start in the 2024-2025 academic year and then begin their studies in that year. These applicants will not be required to complete a separate application. The applicants must apply and be accepted to one of the five Graduate Business Programs: MBA, MSOL, MS HRMG, MS in Business Analytics or MS Accounting to be considered for a scholarship

Awards will be granted based on the student’s undergraduate GPA as follows:

  1. A one-time annual scholarship of $6,000

Requirements for an award of $6,000 include:

  • Undergraduate Degree GPA of 3.5 or above from a U.S. college or university that is regionally accredited or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution.
  • The GPA used for this purpose will be the GPA the student earned from the institution that conferred their undergraduate degree. In addition, the GPA will not be rounded up, i.e., to receive this scholarship the GPA must be 3.50 or higher.
  1. A one-time annual scholarship of $3,000

Requirements for an award of $3,000 include:

  • Undergraduate Degree GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 and less than 3.5 from a U.S. college or university that is regionally accredited or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution.
  • The GPA used for this purpose will be the GPA the student earned from the institution that conferred their undergraduate degree. In addition, the GPA will not be rounded up, i.e., to receive this scholarship the GPA must be 3.0 or higher.

Note: This award is contingent upon the following:

  1. Submission of the admission deposit of $100 ($400 for international students)
  2. Register for at least two classes (six credits) for the fall 2024 term.

Scholarship Process

There is no separate application required. Each student who applies to begin their program in the 2024-2025 Academic year will be considered for one of the two scholarship awards listed above upon acceptance or admission to the program. There is a limited amount of scholarship money available for the 2024-2025 academic year and scholarships will only be awarded while scholarship monies are still available.

Please note that this scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship, grant, or discount program from B´ÎÔª. Other scholarships or grants include, but are not limited to, the Mercy Cares Grant Program for Mercy Alumni, any named-scholarships, employee tuition assistance from the University and veteran benefits. Also, students who are in the 4+1 BS/MBA Program are not eligible for a scholarship from this program.

When a scholarship is awarded, it must begin in the quarter for which the student requested admission during the 2024-2025 academic year. If the student defers admission, they may forfeit their scholarship. Also, please note that if a student does not register for at least six credits in a quarter for the first four quarters they are eligible to attend, the total amount of their scholarship will be reduced. This includes the situation where a student does not register for a quarter.

Scholarships will be awarded to accepted students on a first-come first-served basis as determined by the time stamp receipt of a completed application from students who are starting their program during the 2024-2025 academic year and are registered for at least six credits in each quarter in which the scholarship is applied. The scholarship will be applied on a pro-rata basis for each of the first four quarters in which they are eligible to register beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year.

An annual award to a Mercy undergraduate alumni majoring in Business who intends to pursue an MBA. The Fellowship will be awarded on a competitive basis, involving the submission of a project essay, a transcript and an application. The successful student will be provided with funds to supplement tuition assistance during the year the student is enrolled in the MBA program. To be eligible students must be new, not re-admits or continuing students.
