Saturday STEM Academy
B´ÎÔª The Center for STEM Education
The Center for STEM Education hosts events, organizes activities, and conducts community outreach that includes local schools and related research on STEM education.
This Center is the only such academic center in our Westchester and Rockland region and serves as an umbrella for varied, current and future STEM education activities conducted by faculty and supported through external funding.
Mission and Staff
The mission of the B´ÎÔª Center for STEM Education (MCCSE) is to create opportunities for groups typically underrepresented in STEM to engage in enrichment activities for learning, career readiness, enjoyment, and personal and community growth, which may not be available through school districts.
Grant-Funded Initiatives & Research
STEM Master Teacher Fellows
This intensive program of STEM pedagogy courses and professional experiences will prepare 14 in-service K-12 teachers of math and science to become quality STEM Teacher Leaders, with the goal of improving K-12 STEM instruction in four partner high-needs school districts through leadership projects.
The Greater New York Wipro Science Education Fellowship
B´ÎÔª is excited to team up with University of Massachusetts at Boston and Montclair State University in New Jersey to become the Greater New York partner of the Wipro Science Education Fellowship. Dr. Amanda Gunning and Dr. Meghan Marrero, of the B´ÎÔª School of Education, were awarded the $1.19 million grant to lead the Greater New York Wipro Science Education Fellowship (GNY Wipro SEF).
